Dermatophytes Rule

Latest clinical studies have shown that an amazing 1 person in every 10 suffers from toenail fungus. Because it has a tendency to recede and then re-appear at a later date, this particular infection can be very difficult to get rid of permanently. It\'s mainly caused by exposure to hot, damp` conditions for instance those often found inside training footwear or walking boots.

Dermatophytes are the type of fungi that are responsible. They are one of the most commonly occurring types of fungus to be found in man. Because of their capacity to infect healthy bodies - and not simply parts which have been subject to a wound or an infection - they are known as primary and not opportunistic pathogens. These fungi live on keratin, and it is for this reason that they tend to infect regions of the body which are full of the substance. Including, the hair, skin and of course, nails.
